Project: AIR

Project: AIR was an experiment by four artists, Meg Rotzel, Christy Georg, Jessica Rylan, and myself, to expose the studio process to the public from 10am to 11pm everyday for one week in the Student Center at Smith College in North Hampton, Ma. While the general public typically experiences art as a finished product in a gallery or museum enviroment, we established a working studio in two of the glass walled rooms of the student center where anyone could walk in and, were indeed, encouraged to interact with the artists. Beyond the framing of 'process' art, Project: AIR attempted to show decisions and indecisions, the successes and failures, the learning processes of four artists, all working in different media and styles, in work of creating art.
